USDA Safe Cooking Guidelines:
Roast at 425°F for 15–20 minutes until marrow softens (do not overcook)
For stock, simmer bones 12–24 hours; strain and chill promptly

Pet Use Guidelines (Non-USDA):
Serve raw only (never cooked or smoked, which can splinter).
Choose a bone larger than your dog’s muzzle to reduce fracture/choking risk.
Limit chew sessions to 10–15 minutes; refrigerate between uses and discard when gnawed down or the bone becomes small/soft.
Supervise always; avoid for aggressive chewers or dogs with dental issues.Marrow is rich—scrape out some marrow for dogs with sensitive stomachs; provide fresh water.
When in doubt, consult your veterinarian, especially for puppies or dogs with pancreatitis or dental concerns.
